Picking The Hammock That's Right For You

Hey WOO family,

Today we want to discuss how to pick the right hammock to suit your needs. If you’ve never purchased a hammock before, it can be daunting. There are so many options and different styles out there!

When choosing a hammock, there are a few important factors to keep in mind.

How to Pick the Right Hammock

5 thinks to consider when picking a hammock:

1.) Size

The main difference here is single vs. double; most people choose a double for comfort, not necessarily because they plan to hang in the hammock with someone. (Although it’s great for that, as well!)

2.) Weight

Many backpackers or campers prefer a lighter weight hammock setup. (Like our Featherlight hammock)

3.) Accessories

You need a suspension system (straps) to set it up. (Our hammocks come with the straps included!) Other styles require you to purchase straps separately.

4.) Hammock length

Hammock lengths vary much less than widths, and, unless you’re extra tall, you won’t need to worry about this dimension. A rule of thumb for camping and lounging hammocks is to look for a hammock that’s at least 2 feet longer than your height, which turns out to be most hammocks for most people!

5.) Hammock Fabric

Most hammocks are made of Nylon. (Ours are made with 210T Parachute Nylon) There are also woven cloth hammocks that are best used indoors!

We hope this helps you choose the right hammock for you! In the end, it’s the way that YOU feel in the hammock that really matters!
